An distinctive dual time zone wristwatch of captivating aesthetics and remarkable technical sophistication, the Vicenterra GMT-3 by independent master watchmaker Vincent Plomb is a piece which is utterly irresistible to the eye, with a display which brims with novel detail and animated horological features, including the signature hand painted globe which defines each Vicenterra timepiece.

The debut creation of the company established by Vincent Plomb, the Vicenterra GMT-3 Chapter One was first unveiled in 2010, and since then has evolved into an impressive collection of limited edition wristwatches which reflect an expressive code of styling and distinguished individuality.

Encased in an elegant tonneau shape, the GMT-3 is available in a range of metals, with options in titanium, stainless steel and 18ct gold. Measuring 44.6mm at its widest point, and 54mm from end to end, it is a watch with an imposing presence for sure, but its soft curves and lugless design mean that it is ergonomic and a perfectly comfortable fit on the wrist.

Beneath a gently domed sapphire crystal, the elaborate dial of the Vicenterra GMT-3 offers a spectacular three dimensional display of the time and its ancillary functions, in a captivating array which surrounds the central primary hours, minutes and seconds display. A secondary 24 hour dial provides GMT or second time zone, while the date is indicated on a retrograde calendar near the 2 o’clock position where a small cutaway section provides a glimpse of the mechanism inside. More subtle is the rotating disc above the twelve which indicates day and night with sun and moon motifs which pass in and out of view with the passing hours.

The most enchanting and distinctive feature is the tiny hand painted globe which is immediately below the roman V (5) marker, which doubles up as a pointer to illustrate a chosen local time. A signature Vicenterra feature, the globe rotates in a 24 hour cycle, and a porthole on the side of the case provides an enhanced view of the tiny blue planet as it spins. Correcting pushers on either side of the case enable simple adjustments of the globe as well as the GMT/dsecond time zone

Inside, a premium grade Swiss ETA 2892 self winding movement has been coupled with the Vicenterra module, which enables the unique animated functionality of the display. Beating at 28’800 vib/h (4hz), it boasts a power reserve of at least forty-two hours. A small round window on the steel caseback offers a view of the bespoke Vicenterra oscillating weight.
