A small independent watch brand founded in 2012 in Geneva by Rexhep Rexhapi, Akrivia is known for its outstanding complicated watchmaking. The collections revolve around offering strong designs and highly complex calibers that underscore the brand’s commitment to traditional techniques and modern elegance. Dedicated to creating beautiful and inventive expressions of time, Akriva is known for its excellence in Haute Horlogerie tourbillon escapements, jump hours, regulators, and chiming watches, among others.

History of AKRIVIA

The founder of AKRIVIA, Rexhep Rexhepi, was born in Kosovo in 1987 ina small village called Zheger. His father worked in Switzerland but regularly came to visit. Rexhep would spend his time taking apart his father’s watches to understand how they worked. He moved to Geneva, Switzerland, at the age of 12 years old to join his father.

He started his apprenticeship at Patek Philippe at the young age of 15, and as one of the most talented young students, was offered a full-time position. Five years later, he followed three fellow watchmakers who started BNB Concept, a high-end movement developer, where he flourished. In 2007 he moved to FP Journe, who entrusted him with assembling the most complicated timepieces.

The independent urge hit him in 2012, and he fulfilled his long time dream of launching his watch brand. AKRIVIA was born, known today by watch collectors and design enthusiasts worldwide. 

Rexhep and the AKRIVIA team conceive, design, and build all their timepieces in their atelier in Geneva’s old town. Whether it is signed AKRIVIA or Rexhep Rexhepi, any timepiece is a study of specialized watchmaking, from chiming complications to gear-coupled chronographs. Each watch is assembled from start to finish by one watchmaker.
