Description
Released in 2002, this Royal Oak Tourbillon Chronograph 25977OR.OO.D002CR.01 is a highly coveted model. It's no wonder this is the case, given its two superior complications combined. A true masterpiece, this watch displays a superb finish, with tourbillon and chronograph, and an elegant 18K rose gold case that's paired with a black dial. The black and pink as well as the high polish and brushed finishes offer attractive contrast. Of course, the watch bears the classic octagonal bezel and the iconic Grande Tapisserie dial. The hands and hour markers are in rose gold with luminescent fill. Also present on the dial are two sub-registers with rose gold chapter rings, for the constant seconds and chrono minutes. At 6 o'clock is the tourbillon's rotating cage, offering a visual spectacle. This timepiece is powered by the manual-wound caliber 2889, which you can view from the sapphire caseback. The watch is water resistant to 20 meters and worn on a black rubber strap, secured on the wrist by an 18K rose gold AP folding clasp.
The watch is in overall very good condition with minor wear throughout commensurate with age. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
