Blancpain L-Evolution Flying Carousel Reference 0222-3600-53B, a rose gold manual wristwatch with tourbillion, Circa 2012
Description
Description
In 2008, the first one-minute flying carousel was put into a wristwatch. The L-Evolution Flying Carousel is a viable alternative to the tourbillon, as it aims to lessen the effect of gravity on the rate of the movement. Blancpain had made its mark on watchmaking history by creating the world's thinnest tourbillon. To achieve this, the highly skilled watchmakers in Le Brassus had modified the classic arrangement of the balance to achieve its slenderness.
The watch is in very good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
