SINGER REIMAGINED TRACK 1 EMIRATES EDITION
Since rocking the watch world with its astonishing and groundbreaking concept of the chronograph in 2017, the Track 1 chronograph by Singer Reimagined has become an icon of contemporary independent watchmaking. In redesigning the very fundamentals of this most popular complication which goes back over two hundred years, it is a watch whose profound mechanical complexity which beats within translates to a configuration which makes using its functions simple and intuitive.
To commemorate the 2019 Dubai Watch Week exhibition, the company has created a remarkable new limited edition version, using high tech materials and introducing a stunning colourway which makes this extraordinary piece even more outstanding, and as only twenty-five examples have been produced, highly exclusive too.
The Singer Reimagined Track 1 Emirates Edition is a striking piece in every sense. Presented in a black case with a metallicised khaki green dial with gold detail and vivid orange hands, the yellow gold of the bezel, crown and pushers provide a superb and highly effective contrast. The case is constructed in a lightweight but hard wearing ceramic aluminium which has a brooding matte black finish, while the polished gold detailing is the result of ZrN coating on Grade 5 Titanium.
The traditional chronograph displays the lapsed seconds, minutes and hours on separate subdials, which requires the eye to focus on three distinct sources on the dial to glean the available information, but with all of this centralised and indicated from a central handset the Singer Reimagined Track 1 is a chronograph without subdials, and it is a format which works very well, as at a single glance the data is easily and quickly accessible, illustrated clearly by the orange chrono pointers. The time is displayed on the black ring around the dial, as two discs rotate to display the hours and minutes, with the small orange pointer at the six as the reference point.
On the underside, a sapphire glass caseback reveals the incredible self winding AgenGraphe movement by Agenhor which makes it all possible. At its very heart, the chronograph module seamlessly integrates with the mechanical elements around it, and this enables the operation of this superb central chronograph. With its oscillating weight moved from the back to topside, underneath the dial it beats at 21’600 vph, and is good for 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
One of the most talked about horologic innovations in recent times, the Singer Reimagined Track 1 Emirates Edition is presented on a durable green textile strap with decorative titanium rivets and pin buckle.
